Vigovisións started as a section of the II Fotobienal de Vigo in 1986 and it continued being so until 2000. During those years photographers from different countries and with plural aesthetic conceptions worked in Vigo for about ten days. They were absolutely free to choose both the approach and the content of their work, as well as to decide the way they wanted to fulfill it.

The project Vigovisións is organized by Vigo Council, produced and coordinated by the Centre of Photography Studies (CEF) and the curators are Manuel Sendón and Xosé Luis Suárez Canal.
